Our Board of Directors has approved the adoption of a group-wide, risk-based, corporate governance architecture, which conforms to best practices around the world.

Board Committees

The four Standing Committees of the Board - Audit; Corporate Governance and Ethics; Compensation and Human Resources and Investment and Risk - play an integral role in the governance process.

Board Mandate

Each Board Committee assists the Board with the proper discharge of its functions by providing an opportunity for more in-depth discussions on areas not reserved specifically for the Board. The mandates of all the Committees comply with best practice.

Paula Walcott

Chief People Officer Sagicor Financial Company Ltd.

Appointed Chief People Officer, effective June 1, 2024
Has a 21+ year career in Human Resources.
She previously held the positions of Assistant Vice President, Human Resources, Sagicor General Insurance Inc and later Vice President, Human Resources, and Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Sagicor Life Inc.
Holds an undergraduate degree in Social Sciences (Sociology, Psychology and Management) from the University of the West Indies and a Master of Science Degree in Human Resources from the University of Surrey. She is a Prosci Certified Change Management Practitioner, a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (UK), and a Senior Certified Professional Member of the Society for Human Resource Management (USA), where she is also an inaugural member of the SHRM Executive Network. She is also a member of the Human Resource Management Association of Barbados and a member of the International Association of Business Communicators, Barbados Chapter.
She was awarded the prestigious Group Sagicorian Manager of the Year in 2020.
As Chief People Officer, Ms. Walcott will be a member of Sagicor's Executive Commitee and will report to Mr. Andre Mousseau, President and CEO, Sagicor Financial Company Ltd.
